    Favorite systems papers

Val Henson at Sun is blogging her favorite systems papers. This is a great topic. I periodically try to blog interesting papers or books that I've read. When I was a graduate student I read a ridiculous number of papers. I still have the BibTeX files that I used to keep track of them, including my notes. Blogging them would have been a much better way to record my thoughts and spark discussion about the paper ideas. SIGMOD Record has a section called Reminiscences on Influential Papers which is pretty interesting. How I'd love to get that via RSS or RSS with enclosures. There is an XML version of it, but that's not quite close enough.
[update: Val is a woman. My apologies!]
