Rendezvous everywhere
One of the announcements at WWDC is the availability of Rendezvous implementations for platforms other than Mac OS X. I have benefitted a lot from Rendezvous functionality, and definitely wished for it to be available on Windows and Linux. Yes, there's howl, which I reported on previously. Rendezvous is a facility that needs to embedded in the OS so that applications can depend on it being there. I hope that Apple's release will help that to happen.
I know that some people will accuse Apple of trying to kill howl, especially in the wake of the Dashboard/Konfabulator controversy. howl has been available for some time, and it's open source. As far as I can tell, the uptake is not that large. At this point, broadening the use of Rendezvous on platforms besides the Mac is an important goal, and the more players the better.

This Python implementation of Rendezvous/ZeroConf has been around for a while. It should be cross-platfrom, but I haven't tried using it myself yet.

These are fine -- I used pyzeroconf at the NW Sprint.
However, in my mind this is about adoption of zeroconf on a much larger scale than today. Which means it has to be more than python. I'm sure that some enterprising person will SWIG/Pyrex the Apple libs.
