Yesterday, Julie, the girls, and I went to the Seattle blogger Anon-o-con. It's always interesting to meet other people "in the tribe". The girls had pretty good time at the kids table, although they told me later that they liked the grown up table better. Also, good to meet Chip Gibbons in person (we shared the boat trips back and forth) -- he and Julie have been interacting a bit via e-mail, and we're all part of the Bainbridge Island chapter of the Jay McCarthy fan club. I found this get together to be much more technology oriented than the Meetup.com gathering. We spent a bunch of time talking about blogging packages and so forth -- I learned about Ping-o-Matic!, which apparently has an XML-RPC interface as well (thanks Ned Batchelder). For Michael Hanscome: here's a cookbook approach to using Apache's mod_rewrite to fix URL's. This is how I moved Julie's blog, and how I plan to move mine (if I ever decide to do it).

Also, thanks to Anita Rowland for being adventurous about the seafood chowder -- I tried some also, and liked it. Hard to find a red chowder in these parts, and white ones are out due to lactose intolerance (and yes, I have tried the pills).
