So - what is it about bloggers that gets so many of them to setup these in-person meetings?

It's just curious when comparing to the concept of blogging = publishing for the masses.  But in publishing, who ever meets the author or the publisher?  I suppose with comments/trackbacks etc. and blogging getting so technically sophisticated yet so easy, there is plenty of direct online personal interaction.

Sorry I'm rambling; have an 11am (eastern!) meeting I don't really want to prepare for and am finding displacement activities instead... 8-)

Hello Ted, my name is Lion. We met briefly at the meetup; I shouted, "You're that guy!" when I saw you. :) Unfortunately, we didn't get to talk.

I have been programming Python for a few years now. I am very interested in Chandler. But, my work is in wiki.

One area of overlap is in (what you've called) "semi structured data models."

In Wiki, we are trying to work out a simple model for Database Capabilities. As you know, traditionally, you must know how your data is organized before you get to data collection. But we'd like a flexible model. You might even say, "sloppy." We want it to be easy to use. And we want to be able to perform interesting queries over it, with reasonable speed. It does not have to do everything, and it can be restricted to relatively small data sets.

So, naturally, we're watching Chandler. It seems to be solving just this problem.

It was good seeing you; I hope we get to meet again, some time, and that we can talk about these things.
