Commodity Software is a Business Opportunity for Service Companies
Phil Windley makes some good
points about commodity software. I've always felt uneasy about commodity software, but I walked away from OSCON, realizing that it's not so bad -- most of the world's businesses are commodity businesses, and there are still lots of businesses out there. I'm glad that Phil reported Doc's extended construction metaphor, that helps too.
